Facel Vega Excellence - first time I've ever heard of the only four door Facel Vega. Only 156 Excellences were made, due to its fantastically enormous price. Back in 1958, this would've cost the same as four Citroen DSes, which in itself was not a cheap car. Powered by a big Chrysler V8 (the first gen's was a HEMI!), power over the years ranged from 360-390hp.
And yes, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! doors.

They are suicide doors. Aren't they?

The first-gen Excellence looks better than the second-gen IMO, partly because of the tail fins.
Also, Ringo had an FV, but I believe it was a Facel II or some such.

Yes. Any and all rear-hinged doors are suicide doors. The term has (primarily in the 90's) been incorrectly applied to Lambo-style doors that popped out and raised up. The phrase derives from the fact that rear-hinged doors, if hit by another car while you're exiting the car, will kill you vis-a-vis a front-hinged door, which will merely rip off the car you're exiting.

The idea behind the 90s suicide doors was that they could fall on you like scissors. At least, that what I remember from all the hype about the Diablo.

I've heard the phrase "guillotine door" as well, I think.
